The Trustees
From the outset the Trophy has been in the custody of the Royal Motor Yacht Club (RMYC) and the Trustees of the Trophy must be members of the RMYC.
The Trustees have included some of the leading figures in powerboat racing, such as the immediate past Chairman, the Earl of Normanton who competed for the Harmsworth Trophy on several occasions.
Tony Needell was also a Trustee for many years. This well-known naval architect designed many race boats and was instrumental in organising the first Cowes-Torquay race along with Sir Max Aitken. Tony also wrote the racing rules which still form the basis of the current UIM rule book.
The current Trustees are David Macey (Chairman), Maxwell Beaverbrook, Richard Salaman and Sally Windsor.
