The Harmsworth Trophy

Of the many trophies that have been donated for powerboat racing in the 100-plus years of the sport’s history, the oldest, most famous and most prestigious is the Harmsworth Trophy.

It is widely regarded as being of comparable significance to the America’s Cup for sailing and the Schneider Trophy for aviation.  The trophy was first raced for in 1903 (the year the first plane flew) and has always been regarded as a true test of both competitor and machinery against the sea.
